Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar technologies we use, and why.
This Cookie Policy explains how GetAGlider (operated by Swiss Sailplane GmbH) uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies when you visit our website. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We also use the browser localStorage API for the same purposes. Together they let the site remember things between page loads, such as whether you are signed in, your preferred language, or that you have already answered the cookie banner.
Categories we use
We split cookies into three categories. You can accept or reject the optional ones at any time through the cookie banner.
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required to deliver the service you explicitly request — signing in, keeping you signed in across pages, remembering your language and remembering your cookie choice. You cannot disable them without breaking the site.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token | Supabase (1st-party) | Authentication session (signed-in users). | Session / up to 7 days |
| NEXT_LOCALE | GetAGlider | Remembers your interface language. | 1 year |
| werent.consent.v1 | GetAGlider (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we don't ask again. | 12 months |
2. Analytics (optional, only with consent)
If you accept analytics, we count anonymous visits to public listings and track unique daily viewers so owners can see how many people looked at their glider. We do not share this data with third parties and we do not build advertising profiles.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| werent_session | GetAGlider | Random session identifier for view counting. | 30 minutes |
| werent_visitor | GetAGlider | Marks the listing as already viewed today (de-duplication). | 24 hours |
3. Marketing
GetAGlider does not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies. If we ever introduce them, they will be off by default and only set after you opt in through the cookie banner.
Third-party services
A few sub-processors may set their own cookies when you actively use a feature that relies on them:
- Stripe — sets fraud-prevention and session cookies only when you open a Stripe-hosted checkout or onboarding flow.
- Vercel — our hosting provider may set short-lived cookies for load-balancing and security.
- Supabase — sets the authentication cookies listed above when you sign in.
How to manage your choices
You can change your mind at any time. We provide several ways to control non-essential cookies:
- Re-open the cookie banner by clearing the 'werent.consent.v1' entry in your browser's site data, then reload the page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that this may sign you out and reset your preferences.
- We honour the 'Do Not Track' browser signal by treating it as a refusal of analytics cookies.
Legal bases
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the service securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revFADP). Analytics and any future marketing cookies are set only with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as we add or remove features. Material changes will be announced via the cookie banner or an in-app notice before they take effect.
